Calculus The Musical at PC

CALCULUS: THE MUSICAL!

TWO PERFORMANCES AT PHOENIX COLLEGE

Thursday, February 7, 2019

Calculus: The Musical! is a comic adventure through the peaks and troughs-- and concepts and history--of Calculus. Developed by theatre professionals in collaboration with a high school math teacher, hilarious and catchy song parodies set formulas and rules to popular melodies in an engaging method proven to get stuck in students' heads!

Ada, a modern math student, joins forces with Isaac Newton on a quest for the instantaneous rate of change and area under the curve. Witty comic style and popular music parodies introduce and illuminate concepts of limits, integration, differentiation.

Archimedes, Robert Hooke, Gottfried Leibniz, L'Hopital and Riemann are part of the action, from toga parties and accordion smackdowns to sick rhymes and dream ballets--you've never laughed so much in an hour of Calculus.

"I think that was the best hour of my life"
--high school student, Colorado
